At present, Harry Whitelock’s work revolves around painting and drawing. Harry begins by finding objects and spaces he is drawn to. Without processing too much, he starts with looking, drawing, and painting from life until he feels a sharp enough connection to space or object. Often at this point, some sort of loose narrative may begin to form and direction becomes clear.

Recently image seem to always begin with an observed portrait. As the mind begins to wander, so does the image. Figures merge, space becomes confusing. A mirrored reality of familiar symbols emerge, encapsulated by a desire explore and understand people.
